ದುರ್ಗಾ ಪೂಜೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಘೋರ ದುರಂತ: ಕಾಲ್ತುಳಿತಕ್ಕೆ 19 ಮಂದಿ ಬಲಿ, 35ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಗಾಯ!

Kolkata Durga Puja Stampede: ನವರಾತ್ರಿ ಸಂಭ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ದುರ್ಗಾದೇವಿಯ ದರ್ಶನ ಪಡೆಯಲು ತೆರಳಿದ್ದ ಭಕ್ತರ ಪಾಲಿಗೆ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಸಂಭ್ರಮವೇ ಕಣ್ಣೀರಿನ ಕಡಲಾಗಿ ಮಾರ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಬಂಗಾಳದ ರಾಜಧಾನಿ ಕೋಲ್ಕತ್ತಾದಲ್ಲಿ ದುರ್ಗಾ ಪೂಜೆಯ ವೇಳೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದ ಭೀಕರ ಕಾಲ್ತುಳಿತದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನಿಷ್ಠ 19 ಮಂದಿ ಸಾವನ್ನಪ್ಪಿದ್ದು, 35ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಜನರು ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡಿರುವುದಾಗಿ ವರದಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಮೃತರಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು ಹಾಗೂ ಮಗು ಸೇರಿರುವುದು ದುರಂತದ ತೀವ್ರತೆಯನ್ನ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿದೆ. ಶನಿವಾರ (ಅಕ್ಟೋಬರ್ 17) ಸಂಜೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದ ಈ ಘಟನೆ ದೇಶದಾದ್ಯಂತ ಆಘಾತ ಮೂಡಿಸಿದೆ. 

ದುರ್ಗಾದೇವಿ ದರ್ಶನಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದವರಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾದ ದುರಂತ!

ಉತ್ತರ ಕೋಲ್ಕತ್ತಾದ ಗಿರೀಶ್ ಪಾರ್ಕ್ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣಾ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ಚೋರ್ ಬಗಾನ್ ಸರ್ವಜನಿಕ ದುರ್ಗಾ ಪೂಜಾ ಪೆಂಡಾಲ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ದುರ್ಘಟನೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದೆ. ದುರ್ಗಾ ಪೂಜೆಯ ಸಪ್ತಮಿ ದಿನವಾದ ಶನಿವಾರ ಸಂಜೆ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಭಕ್ತರು ದೇವಿಯ ದರ್ಶನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಸಂಜೆ ಸುಮಾರು 7.40ರ ವೇಳೆಗೆ ಮಳೆ ಆರಂಭವಾದ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಜನರು ಏಕಾಏಕಿ ಪೆಂಡಾಲ್‌ನತ್ತ ನುಗ್ಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದೇ ವೇಳೆ ಒಳಗಿದ್ದವರು ಹೊರಬರಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಿರ್ಗಮನ ದ್ವಾರದ ಬಳಿ ತೀವ್ರ ನೂಕುನುಗ್ಗಲು ಉಂಟಾಗಿದೆ. ಜನಸಂದಣಿಯ ಒತ್ತಡಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿಲುಕಿ ಹಲವರು ಕೆಳಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದು, ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಇತರರು ಬಿದ್ದ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಕಾಲ್ತುಳಿತ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ವರದಿಗಳು ತಿಳಿಸಿವೆ. ಕೆಲವೇ ಕ್ಷಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಕ್ತರ ಆಕ್ರಂದನ ಮುಗಿಲುಮುಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು, ಹಬ್ಬದ ಸಂಭ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಆತಂಕದ ವಾತಾವರಣ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾಯಿತು. 

ಕಿರಿದಾದ ದ್ವಾರ, ಬೆಳಕಿನ ಕೊರತೆಯೇ ದುರಂತಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣ?

ದುರ್ಘಟನೆಗೆ ಪೆಂಡಾಲ್‌ನ ಪ್ರವೇಶ ಮತ್ತು ನಿರ್ಗಮನ ದ್ವಾರಗಳ ಕಿರಿದಾದ ವಿನ್ಯಾಸ ಹಾಗೂ ಜನಸಂದಣಿ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿನ ಲೋಪ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿರಬಹುದು ಎಂಬ ಆರೋಪಗಳು ಕೇಳಿಬಂದಿವೆ. ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷದರ್ಶಿಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಪೆಂಡಾಲ್‌ನ ಪ್ರವೇಶ ಮತ್ತು ನಿರ್ಗಮನ ದ್ವಾರಗಳು ಕಿರಿದಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಕೆಲವು ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮರ್ಪಕ ಬೆಳಕಿನ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಭಾರೀ ಮಳೆಯ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರು ಆಶ್ರಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಒಂದೇ ಕಡೆ ನುಗ್ಗಿದ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣ ತಪ್ಪಿದೆ ಎನ್ನಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದೇ ವೇಳೆ ಜನಸಂದಣಿಯ ಒತ್ತಡದಿಂದ ಪೆಂಡಾಲ್‌ನ ಒಂದು ಭಾಗ ಕುಸಿದಿರುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆಯೂ ವರದಿಗಳು ಪ್ರಕಟವಾಗಿವೆ. ಆದರೆ ದುರಂತಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಖರ ಕಾರಣವೇನು ಎಂಬುದು ತನಿಖೆಯಿಂದಷ್ಟೇ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಬೇಕಿದೆ.  

ಗಾಯಾಳುಗಳು ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ದಾಖಲು; ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆ

ಘಟನೆಯ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ತಿಳಿಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆಯೇ ಕೋಲ್ಕತ್ತಾ ಪೊಲೀಸರು, ಅಗ್ನಿಶಾಮಕ ದಳ, ವಿಪತ್ತು ನಿರ್ವಹಣಾ ತಂಡಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಆಂಬ್ಯುಲೆನ್ಸ್ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಧಾವಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡವರನ್ನ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಕೋಲ್ಕತ್ತಾ ಮೆಡಿಕಲ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಮತ್ತು ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಕೆಲವರು ಗಂಭೀರವಾಗಿ ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡಿರುವುದಾಗಿ ವರದಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಘಟನೆ ನಡೆದ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಚಪ್ಪಲಿಗಳು, ಬ್ಯಾಗ್‌ಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಇತರ ವಸ್ತುಗಳು ಚೆಲ್ಲಾಪಿಲ್ಲಿಯಾಗಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದ ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳು ದುರಂತದ ಭೀಕರತೆಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿವೆ. ಮುನ್ನೆಚ್ಚರಿಕಾ ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ದುರ್ಗಾ ಪೂಜಾ ಪೆಂಡಾಲ್‌ಗೆ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರ ಪ್ರವೇಶವನ್ನ ಸ್ಥಗಿತಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಘಟನಾ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಭದ್ರತೆಯನ್ನ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. 

ಮೃತರ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ₹25 ಲಕ್ಷ ಪರಿಹಾರ ಘೋಷಣೆ

In this tragic incident, 19 people have died so far, most of whom are girls and children. This is a very painful incident, and 25 people have also sustained injuries; their treatment is ongoing. 24 of them are out of danger, while one is critical. We are providing the best possible medical treatment. Following this incident, I immediately came to the Medical College along with the entire government administration... The place of occurrence has been sealed. The forensic team, STF, and fire brigade are conducting the initial investigation there. This happened partly due to the rain, and there were also some shortcomings in the arrangements made by the puja committee inside. The Kolkata Police AFS is studying the CCTV footage. Whoever is found negligent will face legal action. The Prime Minister has been informed about this. The Home Minister is himself in Kolkata, and is personally monitoring the situation. Tomorrow, the Home Minister's and all our programs have been cancelled... Across the entire state, 58,000 pujas are taking place, and we are taking steps to ensure no such incident happens anywhere else. Initially, we have declared compensation of Rs 25 lakh from the state government and a job for every family that lost a loved one. For all the injured, the full responsibility for their medical treatment has been taken by the state government, and we will provide Rs 5 lakh as compensation to each of them. So far, I have personally met with 10 bereaved families. Even though it is midnight, I am still standing with the victim families, alongside ministers, MLAs, the police, and the Chief Secretary. Under the leadership of a sitting judge of the Kolkata High Court, we will form a fact-finding committee, and the government will take action based on its recommendations." (Source: CMO)

Deeply saddened and shocked by the tragic stampede at the Chorbagan Puja pandal at North Kolkata today. My heartfelt condolences go out to the bereaved families who have lost their loved ones in this devastating incident. The Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, DGP, CP & Senior Officials are with me, we are continuously monitoring the situation. Cabinet Colleagues and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Samik Bhattacharya accompanied me when I personally visited the injured at the Hospital. We are continuously taking stock of ground operations. Our immediate priority is providing immediate medical care to the injured and extending every possible support and assistance to the affected families. As per reports, 17 individuals have tragically lost their lives, and 25 people are currently undergoing treatment. One person remains in critical condition under close observation. The State Government has announced Rs. 25 lakhs and Govt Jobs as compensation for the victims' families and we will be taking steps for constituting a STF under a Sitting Judge for fair investigation. अभी-अभी कोलकाता के चोरबागान सार्वजनिक दुर्गा पूजा पंडाल में हुई भगदड़ का अत्यंत दु:खद समाचार मिला। इस संबंध में मुख्यमंत्री श्री शुभेंदु अधिकारी जी से बात की। इस हादसे में जान गँवाने वाले श्रद्धालुओं की आत्मा की शांति की प्रार्थना करता हूँ और परिवारजनों के प्रति संवेदनाएँ व्यक्त करता हूँ। प्रशासन द्वारा घायलों को हर संभव चिकित्सा सुविधा उपलब्ध करवाई जा रही है। पश्चिम बंगाल के अपने कल के सभी कार्यक्रम स्थगित कर अस्पताल जाकर घायलों से मिलूँगा। माँ दुर्गा से सभी घायलों के शीघ्र स्वस्थ होने की प्रार्थना करता हूँ।
